The Harvey Wheeler Community Center and the Fowler Public Library are part of the Village Center on Main Street. Emerson Hospital, a full service non-profit hospital is nearby along with other Concord health care facilities increasingly responsive to the needs of a diverse and maturing population. The playing fields of Rideout Playground on Laws Brook Road are in the Warner Woods neighborhood, as is Warner Pond which is popular for fishing, canoeing and hiking on nearby trails. West Concord is served by the Fitchburg line of the MBTA commuter rail system, with trains carrying passengers to and from Cambridge and Boston in travel times of 30 to 45 minutes. West Concord is minutes from Route 2 which offers direct access by car to Cambridge, Boston, and Routes 128 and 495.
